2025 WORKSHOPS

Building Healthy Workplaces

DESCRIPTION

This workshop is recommended for people leaders, and human resources or labour relations practitioners.

We are all working toward a respectful workplace: an environment where there is a strong culture of inclusion, diversity, mutual respect, and open communication. What is preventing some work environments from this kind of positive culture?

An unhealthy or dysfunctional workplace is a professional environment marked by negativity, hostility, disruptions, and sometimes a perceived lack of employee support. The dysfunction may involve unresolved conflicts, disrespectful work relationships, fallout from a workplace investigation, or perceptions of unfairness. Symptoms of not addressing the issues that underlie and contribute to an unhealthy workplace are often high absenteeism, low morale, and productivity, and impairment of everyone's physical and emotional well-being.

During this workshop, participants will explore recognizing signs of an unhealthy workplace or department, getting to the root of the dysfunction, and creating and implementing an effective intervention.

WORKSHOP GOAL

Participants will learn how to identify and respond to unhealthy workplaces to help create more positive and productive departments and teams.

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of an unhealthy or dysfunctional workplace.
